The same but different.

While working for Leeds Art Gallery I got a preview of the John Sell Cotman show they’ve curated. It looks great and is worth a visit. I really liked the sketches of farm life  at rest and its associated stillness . I’m still working on how to capture improvised processes here at Croft Farm – it feels hard to show it in action and so I wondered if what Cotman did offers me an idea. Can I  capture this improvisations at rest – when working and doing is done or do we just get observations drawings specific to place and practice but not revelatory about improvisation?
