Black Gold.
2010
These two photographs of stored Oilseed Rape were made for the exhibition Curating the Farm at Woollaton Hall, Nottingham. Curated by Georgina Barney for the 2010 British Art Show. I was keen to highlight the role of the global commodity markets in farming and the fact both oilseed rape and coal (which Woollaton Estate’s fortune was build on) are both known as Black Gold.
