NOW
2020 – ongoing
NOW is a text based work that existed on Twitter @kategenever from 2020 to 2023 and was linked to the front page of this website. Updated daily, it featured still lives from my active and specific life as both artist and farmer. The short, often clumsy, visual sentences aim to challenge romantic notions of the country, reveal my families farming life and celebrate the temporal. By hosting NOW on Twitter, a platform that continued to fail on its promise to let things pass, I become like the still-life painters before me who tried to fix time.
I stopped using Twitter due to Elon Musk. All previous NOW posts can currently be found on my twitter profile.
I will continue daily NOW’s via this website, which automatically stores them.
