


These three human-scale charcoal drawings feature homemade chicken crates.
I photographed the originals in Melton Mowbray Fur and Feather Market. They and others like them, were laid out on long tables and I was drawn to their DIY construction and the small clutches of Bantam and Sussex chicks they contained. These little cages seemed the perfect metaphor to describe all our lives during the enforced Covid lockdowns.
