This drawing features a sandbagged flood defence with the paper’s curled edge suggesting the wave. It forms part of a body of work that explored the fragile nature of engineered landscapes – sites I call half land half water. This work in particular relates to South Lincolnshire and how we battle with nature to live and work in places that are at or undersea level.
