These chalk drawings were made on famous sites across Gdansk, during a period of research into the cities history. They reference the baskets I saw still in use and also those featured in photographs of the famous strikes of the early 80’s. The title Even though the table has gone it can always be re-assembled is a quote the Solidarity movement made in relation to non-violent resistance. It also mirrors the determined sensibility I discovered in the residents I met.
