Always go too far – that’s where you’ll find the truth

It was not intended that the process is repeatable, but that a container is constructed… in which desire can flourish, absent of leadership. P.Sanger
This action-based research project built on a visiting artist commission I undertook at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds. In collaboration with Phil Sanger and Georgia Cooper, the project considered how experimental drawing could inform and generate ideas for dance.
Always go too far… explored these ideas further, enabled a collaboration that took our respective drawing/dance/therapy specialisms and used the theme Reverie as catalyst. We used improvisation and process-led approaches, and came to understand how the physical acts or objects produced are often secondary to the experience felt. This learning continues to inform our individual practices and roles as facilitators.
