Bromley House Library in Nottingham, wanted “to bring its members into close relations with an artist and enable work to be produced that demonstrated the challenges, relevance and importance of their archive and building”. Alongside them and 5 Leaves Bookshop I developed a year-long residency which brought me in to close relations with the members leading to a series of library based interventions, workshops and talks all themed around the idea of Refuge.
Loves Labours not lost

An LED scrolling display featuring phrases gathered from library members in response to the question: What are you escaping by coming here?
