Unknown knowns more known, known unknowns nearly known, less un-knowing embraced, not knowing held with a yet, a getting to know and new knowing now known..
Common Good is a collaboration with Soraya Smithson, groups of rurally based artists/curators and unique settings.
Formed around an intense 48 hour residential, it takes play and unknowing as its theme and encourages site-specific responses. It supports “rurally isolated” [those who face barriers due to a lack of cultural and public infrastructure, access needs and injustice] artists and curators to reflect on ways of working, explore unfamiliar materials and context, challenge habits, look closely, collaborate, learn about self and place, step away from life, recoup, make new work, socialise, eat good food cooked collectively, share skills and experiences. All wrapped up with a pop up exhibition that opens to the public.
