Nothing, is still the last forever is a wall drawing created for the gallery space at General Practice in Lincoln, using charcoal made during my Nothing, is the last forever in Shining Cliff Woods in 2022. That project saw me reference Metempsychosis and how a soul never dies, moving instead into another form. At General Practice the charcaol takes its next form – a drawing up to the height of my reach, with remants left where they fell.
‘Nothing […] Forever’ is a series of three interconnected exhibitions curated by Andrew Bracey. They include a new wall drawing by Kate Genever, which becomes one part of a three-person show, also featuring Madara Vimba and Epoh Beech. This is followed by a thirty-person group show of East Midlands and international artists. To reflect the use of Kate’s wall drawing as a conceptual and physical connecting point for each exhibition, each show has a different configuration of the words found in Kate’s original title. General Practice.
