Commonware is a collection of repurposed pots salvaged from a potters bin. Each piece had been rejected and abandoned by its maker after they’d been bisque fired. I glazed them and then used them in the communal meals, development sessions and finally the exhibition and extensive program of activity which formed Together we are powerful at The Hub /National Centre for Craft in Sleaford, Lincolnshire.
Commonware has subsequently been used as part of a large-scale participatory project and installation at Leeds Art Gallery in April 2026 as part of their Plant Dreaming exhibition
A sister piece Commonwear was also created for the Together we are powerful project using donated and found headscarves.
